Veterans Service Organizations
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization. We now number nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts worldwide.
The help of a Veterans Service Organization is paramount to success when considering a claim for Disability Compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs system. This page contains links to the most obvious and well known of the national Veterans Service Organizations or VSO for short. After a new VSO is located, researched and verified, the VSO will be listed here as well. If you have personal experience or knowledge of other specific Veterans Service Organizations, please email their link to me.
