Research can be generally defined as, "A quest for factual, correct information and a deeper comprehension concerning a specific subject or series of related subjects." No other genre of research brings to light more answers and understanding concerning man's tendencies, his failures as well as his successes, than the study of Military Science. Man's industrial development, weapons, technology, strategies and the ability to learn from past mistakes, in some way sheds light on every aspect of human nature: Where we have come from and indeed, where we are headed.
No other conventional weapon has caused more devastation in humanistic, natural resource and infrastructure terms than the Field Artillery. Spanning time from the Roman Trebuchet to the modern 'Smart' weapon technologies of the 21st century. Field Artillery has more often than not, been the major, deciding factor in achieving victory on the battlefield; Thereby, justly earning the title of, "King of Battle."
Arguably, one of the most critical aspects of military research is the science of Field Artillery. Ironically, those whom have most diligently pursued this science and successfully implemented its knowledge, theoretically and practically, are the ones who guide history's eventual recordings. From dynastic China to the modern battlefields of today, the masters of the Field Artillery science, are they whom are truly holding both pencil and eraser, in the writing of history.
