40th Field Artillery Picture Galleries
The picture galleries, subject matter, composition and organization will be an ever evolving project in the life of this web site. Originally, there were 600 images divided into eight general categories, covering a broad range of subjects. With new additions and acquisitions, the picture galleries currently contain more than 1,100 images in thirteen more specific categories. At this time, there are another 250 pictures waiting to be processed and added to the collection. As new images arrive, sometimes daily, from all points on the globe, they are categorized, repaired and tagged with appropriate information in preparation of being incorporated into the web site. The process is arduous and can be very time consuming. The picture galleries will never be filled to capacity. As we receive more images, documents and memorabilia, digital storage will be increased and the variety and topics of galleries will continue to grow and become more topic specific.
