Francois Kaserne - Vintage
Francois Kaserne, one of four Kasernes positioned along the infamous stretch of road named Lamboystraße, in Hanau, Germany, was first established in 1894. Francois was built to house the 6th Thüringen Ulanen (Horse Calvary.) Francois Kaserne, along with Hutier, Hessen-Homburg and Yorkoff Kasernes, were constructed on the site of an ancient battlefield that witnessed Germany's last defeat at the hands of the mighty Napoleon Bonaparte. Following WWII, Ulanen Kaserne served as a refugee camp for people displaced by the war until the U.S. Military commandeered Francois Kaserne for its own logistical needs.
